hola mi amigos

i sure have missed being a regular blogger lately, as much as i appreciate automated posting, i really do like getting on here, reading all my favorite reads & chatting with you lovelies. the good news is that i am feeling a little better, and i think i'll be around more this week!

this past weekend, the mister and i had quite a few changes of plans. originally we were going to vegas to celebrate with a hot bride-to-be and her man, then one of the mister's best friends was coming in for the weekend, and finally it ended up just being us... which was definitely ok due to my recent life on the couch. :)

since i have to run off to work, here's the highlights from our four day weekend:
~met w/my surgeon for my pre-op appointment. we should have the surgery scheduled my tomorrow. (highlight because i am ready to just do it!)
~lunch at my favorite cafe... i ate and i didn't get sick! :) blessing
~margaritas
~thor
~delicious beachside brunch... again i got to eat. woo hoo
~bought some awesome seahorse serving dishes (photos soon)
~the master bedroom is FINALLY painted and i am in ♥. like seriously! i can't stop going in there and smiling (photos soon)
~reading the vampire diaries books 1 and 2
~beach day
~seeing old friends
~sunkissed sun-slapped face (note to self: facial before beach = no bueno)
~30 rock marathon
~blissful sleep

how was your weekend? are you ready for this week? :) at least it's a short one! and don't forget...

more sleep please

all i want to do this morning is hide my face in the covers and drift back off to dreamland! for the lovelies who have messaged me asking where i've been ~ well the answer is most likely in bed or curled up on my couch. :)

the mister and i didn't do anything too crazy this weekend, we canceled our plans to disneyland because my curse of endometriosis has been haunting me for the past couple of weeks, but we did go see bridesmaids. (good movie ~ i personally think melissa mccarthy stole the show!)

anyway, i went to my doctor, and it sounds like it's time for another surgery. she was surprised i made it two years without doing another... so i guess that's good?!? eek is all i can say. hopefully, this one will last me another two years as well, and hopefully this will mean a summer of no pain & lots of fun!

since i was a bum this weekend, i need to hear from you guys! what were you all up too??

pictured below ~ my handsome pawpa & beautiful mawma. parents of three, grandparents of thirteen, and great grandparents of two.

1. what was it like the first time you found out you were pregnant?
i was happy, excited, a dream come true. it was the most happy time of my life.

2. what is your favorite memory as a mom?
seeing my children happy and fulfilled.

3. what is your favorite memory with your own mother?
going to church with my mom, just being with her.

4. if you could change anything about how you raised me, would you?
yes, i would. i would be more passionate and faithful in taking my children to church, and learning about god, so i could leave a legacy of faith with them. i would spend more time with them listening to their dreams, and being an example of walking in love and forgiveness.

5. what was your proudest moment as a mom?
when i held each one of my babies in my arms for the first time.

6. in what ways do you think i turned out like you?
i think you loving your children and encouraging them to be the best they could be, and loving them unconditionally... always sacrificing for your kids.

7. what was your biggest fear about becoming a mother?
that something bad would happen to them that would hurt them, or losing one of them.

8. describe what it's like to be a mother in three words?
unbelievable, hopeful, prayerful

9. if i could grant you one wish... what would you wish for?
that all my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren would know god personally, and have a passion to please only him. to make a difference in this world, and to be selfless and always walk in love and forgiveness. to have a kind heart and words to encourage others.

10. is there anything you regret not asking your own mom?
i wish i had asked her more about my grandmother, and the background of our cherokee heritage.

for me this interview is the perfect ending to my mothers interview series. for the first one, i interviewed my mama and for the last one she got to interview hers. :)

in case you missed it check out the other interviews from last week:

and i seriously want to thank all of you amazing ladies and your moms for participating. i completely appreciate it, and i am so glad to have gotten to know your mothers better through you.

when my children received their degrees from college.

i wouldn't do things the right way. i still have doubts about if i fed you right, or if i raised you right, if i was there for you. not raising a healthy child was my biggest fear.

accomplishment, responsibility, and joyful

9. if i could grant you one wish... what would you wish for?
that i would be successful in all aspects of my life. successful as a parent, as a wife, spiritually, and career-wise.

10. is there anything you regret not asking your own mom?
yes. probably not asking my mom enough advice about raising kids. i kind of did it on my own, with your father of course.

mothers interviewed ~ michelle's mama

today's mothers interview is brought to you by michelle of oh, mishka interviewing her lovely mother diana.

1. what was it like the first time you found out you were pregnant?
um, actually i discovered i was pregnant when i had morning sickness, and tossed my cookies when i saw runny eggs. later in the day when i felt better, i was elated! it was a combination of excitement and fear.

2. what is your favorite memory as a mom?
bedtime was always my favorite time of day. silly baths, books, hugs, prayers, and the final "i love you mommy" of the day.

3. what is your favorite memory with your own mother?
we lived way out in the country, and got to go to town once a month to get groceries. i loved that alone time with my mom. she would tell me about her childhood, and we would be silly together.

4. if you could change anything about how you raised me, would you?
michelle, you have turned out to be a beautiful, confident young woman, so i should probably say no. however, i should have forbidden you to see that one boy who treated you like a piece of dirt, and brought down your self confidence. you worked it out in your own way, but i wish i could have found a way to save you the heartache.

5. what was your proudest moment as a mom?
i was always so proud on sunday mornings. we all went to church and sunday brunch. you were very well behaved (most of the time) and i was even proud when you got the giggles during church. it was a wonderful feeling to have others comment on what a beautiful family i had.

6. in what ways do you think i turned out like you?
michelle, the last time you came to visit, i really noticed how much you remind me of myself at your age. you are happy, love practical jokes, and being silly. of course, we both are bookworms, but that began when you were just a baby. you would memorize an entire book, and "read" it to me before you were old enough to read.

7. what was your biggest fear about becoming a mother?
i'm sure all new mother's feel this way, but i obviously had no experience. what if i didn't know what to do when you were crying? how would i know what was wrong if you were sick and couldn't talk to me?

8. describe what it's like to be a mother in three words?
eternal unconditional love.

9. if i could grant you one wish... what would you wish for?
i wish that our whole family could be close enough together to spend all holidays together. the way we were raised, we all lived within a few hours of each other. we spent sundays together with grandparents, parents, siblings, and other family members. i would love to have us all closer together.

10. is there anything you regret not asking your own mom?
absolutely not. i am blessed to still have my mom, and we are very close. i love her, and firmly believe she is the best mom!!
