mister & mrs ~ punta cana photo session

before going on our family vacation in the dominican republic, i had been trying to plan it out to have a professional photographer come take pictures of the mister and i. mainly because i didn't love how i looked in our wedding day pics (i have some insecurities ~ what can i say), and i was hoping to give it another shot.

when i couldn't get all the details pulled together in time before we went to punta cana, i thought for sure that it wasn't going to happen! but lucky me ~ one night when the mister and i were wandering through the hotel we saw a little photography shop that was there just to do photo sessions with hotel guests! amazing!! :)

we ended up scheduling our shoot for the early morning on the day we had to leave for the airport. a little stressful because basically we had an hour and a half shoot planned, and it was going to finish right as the rest of my family was heading to the airport. my biggest fear was missing our goodbye! (don't worry we ran to catch them as they were hopping in their shuttle ♥) this time frame also only gave the photographer one hour to load and prep the photos before we had to select the ones we wanted! <-- talk about crunch time for him. that left us with about 15-20 minutes to pick our shots before our airport taxi was scheduled to grab us! it all worked out perfectly though, and the photographer did an unbelievable job.

if you are a personal friend of mine on facebook, i know you've already seen these! for everyone else, since i want to show you lots and lots of photos... i am splitting up the posts. today's shots are from the first part of our photo session. we started in the garden!

can we talk about the peacock?!? there were soo many behind us, and this guy was totally strutting his stuff. the noises he was making really made it hard to stop giggling! at one point about five of them flew at us. it was absolutely hilarious, and i am very impressed that our photographer had captured such a beautiful moment. ♥

doesn't it look like we were on a dreamy safari? :)

my havana man looked so good. love you babe!

for the fashion-minded, i was wearing: urban outfitters hat & dress, f21 sandals, bracelet, and necklace, and one of my rings i bought in punta cana. he was wearing: quiksilver hat, h&m shirt, custom designed pants. (they were actually the pants he wore for our wedding), and ocean minded sandals. *oh and we were both wearing our "all-inclusive" bracelets... really wish i could have cut it off beforehand! ;)*

so what do you think?? have any of you ever done a professional photo shoot while on vacation? if not i really do suggest it!

it was such a fun experience, and i loved sharing it with the mister! can't wait to show you more. in the meantime, starting sunday i will be posting my "mother's interviews"! i am so excited to feature some of my favorite blogger's mamas.

to all the mom's it's your weekend, enjoy it!!
